Petroglyph Games will remaster the first C&C games

November 27, 2018 9:59 am

This news is bringing back memories and the child in me is screaming with joy! I remember playing these awesome games some years back… oh, the golden times! Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn and C&C: Red Alert Remastered have been announced officially by the EA!

Who are Petroglyph Games?

Besides contributing and/or developing the following titans of the gaming world such as Age of Empires series, Age of Mythology, Call of Duty: World at War and many more, they also developed the Command & Conquer series. Located in Las Vegas and having roughly 20 employees, they have many developers from the former Westwood Studios.

These guys have multiple ongoing projects and one (or two) of them is C&C first games remastered. The cool part about this is that they are letting their fans help with the remastering process.

The EA official article about the news ended with: “The community is literally getting in on the ground floor of this project and have every opportunity to help influence how we build this remastered experience. Please continue to engage on Reddit and community channels and help us create the best possible remasters of C&C and Red Alert!”

In other news: 8-bit armies

Well, another title we are interested in from the developers that will bring back C&C is 8-bit armies. What we love about it is that the graphics reflect the gameplay’s mechanics. The pixelated art style gives a special kind of charm to this kind of strategy game and helps to focus on the action and the fun itself. But do you know what’s the best news about this? You don’t have a population cap, so you could virtually build and build and build as many units as you have resources for.

Is it on Plai?

Well, for the first one, C&C Remastered series, that’s a no (or a not yet *wink wink*), because they haven’t started developing the games. And for the second one: 8-bit armies, that’s a clear not YET! We are working on getting new dev studios onboard, so you could enjoy playing even more games at an hourly rate! Who knows, maybe our partnership with Petroglyph Games will be our big news announcement!
